As the cast are currently going through the process of building, and eventually writing, their character profile, we decided to catch up with one of the actors to ask him a few questions and publish another interview from the 'Meeting the...' series.
This time we met with Jesmond Tedesco Triccas, playing the part of Johann Faustus in lemonhead's Johann Faustus.
THE INTERVIEW

Good afternoon, and thanks for doing this interview for us. What was your first reaction when Bryan asked you to play the part of Faustus?
I was extremely happy being offered such an interesting, diverse and challenging role.
How did you find the script? What did you really like about it?
It has a bit of everything – serious, funny, dramatic – etc. But most of all, it is the lesson we are to learn from this play which, although half a millennium old is still valid to this very day.
This is not the first time you're working under Bryan Muscat's direction. You had some production with Teatru Rjal and Lemonhead. How do you find his approach?
To be quite honest, I never really knew exactly where I stood with Bryan in an actor/director relationship as he is a man of few words. It was only when we spoke a few weeks back where he explained his particular style that I realised I had nothing to worry about as long as he was not commenting, or suggesting alternatives to me. One thing I like and praise in Bryan is that being an actor himself, he fully understands that there is no point spending long hours rehearsing as the mind and body can only take so much.
Your only experience with Lemonhead is as ‘Old Major' in Animal Farm, ten years ago. What are your memories of Lemonhead's first ever Theatrical production?
Animal Farm is one of my favourites and although I did not spend much time with the other cast members, I did notice enthusiasm oozing from each and every one of them
Do you know any member of the Faustus cast?
John Peel is an ex class mate of mine, although we lost touch after leaving school.
What was your feeling after the first cast meeting?
My apologies for being the last one to arrive. We did not have much time to socialise, but I'm sure it will be a different story when rehearsals start.
Did you start working on the character profile?
No, I haven't yet started. I plan to read and dissect the play in order to extract Faustus' character from it. Thanks |
