Auditions Held

Auditions are always an exciting phase in any production; the preparation of the actors, the anticipation of the producers, the interpretation itself. All in all it's a smashing experience.

When Lemonhead announced earlier last month, that their upcoming theatrical production is Johann Faustus, all those interested in auditioning started their research on this legend. An ancient legend, transformed several times into both the stage and the silver screen. The most famous being Goethe's and Marlowe's scripts.

A few days after the official announcement, Lemonhead director Bryan Muscat, called for an Audition night to be held at the end of July. The applications started coming in quick, and all those who applied for the Audition, received some basic info: a synopsis of Noel Tanti's script, and some basic characteristics of the characters within the play.

Yesterday, at St. Patrick's Salesian School in Sliema, Bryan Muscat, Louise Muscat and Noel Tanti watched tens of actors going through their performance. ‘We are very pleased with what we saw, and as always it is a very difficult task for us to come up with the cast. Unfortunately some have to be dropped. It's the only sad part from the whole process… but it's inevitable. They were all very good, so we're sure that at the end of the day, Johann Faustus will have an excellent cast', said Bryan Muscat.

Now Bryan , Louise and Noel will discuss in detail what they saw, compare notes, and try to find the perfect match for each character… not an easy task at all. Later on this week, the actors who took part in the Audition will know whether they will be part of the Faustus team or not.

Good luck to all.
