Audition Night - Date Set

Lemonhead Productions is currently accepting applications for the Johann Faustus Auditions. The Audition date is set for the 30th of July 2010.

We asked Lemonhead director Bryan Muscat, who will also be judging the auditions, what are his expectations. 'Noel, Louise and myself will be judging the auditions. We're expecting a good turnout. This is an exciting phase of the production. There are various types of Auditions one can organize. This time round we're looking for creativity and interpretation, so we're expecting a very interesting session. The three of us are looking forward to the Audition Night'.

Within the first 4 days of the announcement 17 applications were received. 'We need 20 actors for this production. With a good balance of 10 male and 10 female characters. Actually it could also be an 8-12 situation... but anyway. Receiving 17 applications so early augurs well', said Bryan Muscat.

The applicants are receiving basic character profiles of 12 of the characters. They will then have to work on a solo act, creating the scene themselves, based on the character they choose. Bryan explained, 'The soliloquy they will write and perform has to be based on the characteristics we're giving them. However some characters, like the seven deadly sins, we did not give a character profile. Our aim was to give the auditioneers the chance to be completely free in their creativity and interpretation.'

This is the very first time that the auditions will not be open solely for lemonheadders. 'It's good to open our doors sometimes, because it generates new blood and new ideas. At the end of the day, it's the atmosphere created during the rehearsals that will make the production a lemonhead production.'

Good luck, or even better, break a leg, to all those who have applied, and those who still have to apply. By the end of this month we'll have a name attached to the various characters within Noel Tanti's Johann Faustus.
