Lucrezia Borgia
November 2007

Months of hard work climaxing during the production week and reaching its targets during the five performances we had of our last production Lucrezia Borgia. Now it's all over… and we all start feeling the post production blues.

The script was finalized over a year and a half ago, with the casting taking place a year ago. First production meetings taking place as early as April 2007. Then the director met his cast, the stage manager took care of the props, costumes were being designed, PR in place… cast and crew embarked on a long, difficult yet satisfying journey.

Everything falls into place during the production week and you start seeing all the progress transformed into a very good piece of theatre. Then, it's time to show the audience what the project was all about.

Some enjoyed a few aspects of the production which others disliked and vice-versa. Some weren't all that convinced with the whole thing. However, the majority of all those who came to watch our production gave us great feedback.

I for one, as an ‘outsider' for the first time, believe it was one of the best productions Lemonhead produced over the years. Everyone will have his/her opinion on this matter… some still claim Animal Farm was the best, while others mention Van Gogh, Gurija Rrbajta, Macbeth and Frankentsein.  I can't choose. They were all very good, and this was as good.

I am a very proud person today… although with the blues. A very proud person indeed! Not just because of the great interpretation by the cast… but because this Lemonhead production has Lemonheadders directing, lemonheadders sewing, lemonheadders PRing, lemonheadders stage managing… while I just sat around, making myself available, just in case the need arose… it never did.

Well done… from the bottom of my heart.
