Forum Theatre Course Ends

'It was a great experience!', 'I'd love a follow up', 'Will we be performing?' These are a few of the many positive statements that came after the 4 month course on Augusto Boal's Theatre for the oppressed came to an end.

Lecturer Bryan Muscat was more than happy with the great response he got out of the actors. 'It was a smashing experience. It took me back to my days in England. This group of young actors I had, went so deep into Boal's methods, they just kept asking and working all the time'.

The courses included muscle meditation, sensory exercises, information on Boal and Proust, Colombian hypnosis and other exercises, rhythm& breathing exercises, new games re theatre for the oppressed and forum theatre experience exercises re gender, bullying and race oppression.

All the students showed willingness for a follow up. When asked about the possibility Bryan said 'We have other courses in the pipeline, but I must admit that the interest shown towards Boal might tempt me to expand the course in the future. Maybe not next year, but the following year, yes, I can see us doing something in 2010'.
